Biden inauguration rehearsal evacuated after fire near Capitol Michael Talbot

Joe Biden’s inauguration rehearsal was evacuated Monday after smoke was seen rising from behind the Capitol building.

After initial reports of an external security threat, multiple media outlets now say the fire, which was several block away, is not being deemed a threat.

Tensions are high in advance of Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday after pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol on January 6, resulting in several deaths and the historic second impeachment of President Donald Trump.

About 25,000 U.S. National Guard troops have been deployed after intelligence suggests that Trump supporters might come back, and could be armed.
