Woman sought in hate-motivated assault in downtown Toronto John Marchesan

Police are looking to identify a woman wanted in connection with a hate-motivated assault and mischief investigation in downtown Toronto.

Police say back on November 14, 2020, a 48-year-old man and his friend were in the are of Yonge-Dundas Square when they were approached by an unknown woman around 11:30 a.m.

The woman allegedly yelled at the man and punched him in the head a number of times before grabbing a religious item from his hand, causing it to fall and break.

The suspect is described as being five-foot-seven, 120 pounds with long dark hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green winter jacket, black tights, a black sweater and a maroon toque.
