Two people are in critical condition after an early-morning fire in the Danforth and Coxwell area.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on Gainsborough Road around 4:30 a.m. Friday.
Officials said the second floor of a home was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
The fire has spread to a neighbouring home.
Some of the residents were able to get out of the home on their own. One person escaped from a second floor window.
Officials say not all occupants of the home have been accounted for.
Paramedics said one woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition with smoke inhalation. A second person remains at the scene in critical condition.
While battling the fire, one firefighter declared a mayday but was able to get out of the home. A second firefighter was also assessed at the scene by paramedics.
One of the firefighters was then taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Crews remain at the scene trying to knock down the fire.
