Two members of Antifa have clarified they were “joking” about where they receive funding.
Antifa has long been rumoured to receive money from progressive politicians and businessmen.
A viral clip of an Antifa member stating she receives money directly from the Canadian prime minister reignited this long-standing theory.
In response to the leaked audio, Deana Sherif, claims that she wasn’t being serious and that neither her nor her comrades receive any sort of funding from Trudeau.
Sherif states in a 5 minute video clip that she was only “joking.” Fellow Antifa member Joseph Morin appeared in the video, and acknowledged that Sherif’s claims were merely dark humour.
“If you believed that I was telling the truth, you are too fucking stupid to be on the internet,” said Sherif in the video clip. She adds she has made the “joke” dozens of times.
Sherif went on to claim that former sports star Theo Fleury and lawyer Caryma Sa’d are “misleading pieces of shit” for sharing the information.
While Antifa and Antifa-aligned protesters may not receive money directly from Trudeau, the Liberal government openly funds “anti-hate” and “anti-racism” intiatives.
The Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) boasts about receiving money from the Liberal government on its website.
The organization admits it received money from the federal government as part of the “Anti-Racism Action Program.” CAHN received its last grant in 2022.
