Candice Bergen showed Canada that she won’t tolerate misinformation and disinformation from the mainstream media.
The interim leader of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) pushed back at CTV News journalist Evan Solomon after he repeated false claims about the Freedom Convoy.
During an interview with CTV Question Period on Saturday, Bergen told Solomon that unvaccinated people don’t deserve to be called names and reminded him her job is to “listen” to Canadians.
Solomon incorrectly stated that the Freedom Convoy protesters were anti-democratic. Bergen reminded him that the police didn’t lay any sedition charges against protesters.
10,000s of people descended into Ottawa during late January and early February, until they were violently dispersed by police. One woman was injured after being trampled by horses.
Many innocent Canadians had their bank accounts seized without due process after Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act.
It is notable that Solomon was fired from his job at CBC after the Toronto Star revealed he had been taking secret cuts from art deals.
