While Captain Coby pretends to be progressive, he has a dark past of using hateful language towards gay people.
Captain Coby is a left-leaning social media influencer that often takes stabs at right-wing prime minister hopeful Pierre Poilievre.
His Twitter account has over 50,000 followers and his TikTok account has over 225,000 followers, meaning he has a sizable platform to spread his message.
While he presents himself as a progressive, he admits that he has a history of bullying gay people. This includes using homophobic slurs.
Captain Coby even admitted to the bad behaviour on his public Twitter page (archived here).

In his defence, Coby says he apologized to one of his victims, and states that he now acknowledges the error of his ways.
However, many Twitter users have pointed out that the Captain hasn’t changed, and continues to spread hatred on his Twitter page.
Instead of hating on the gays, it appears Captain Coby has turned to hating on conservatives by spreading disinformation about them.
