A leading candidate for the mayor of Toronto claims his latest arrest is based on politics.
Chris Sky, freedom activist and Toronto mayoral candidate, has professed his innocence in an exclusive interview with Toronto 99.
Sky was charged with uttering death threats, as was reported by local media. He turned himself in earlier in the week to 53 Division in Toronto.
When asked about the charges, Sky provided the following statement:
[This is] like the other 72 charges I have already beat. This is just another politically motivated, slander, defamation and torture campaign to punish me for going against the establishment.
Anybody who still doubts this fact, simply needs to look at the average conviction rate in Canada, [which is] over 60%. I should have at least 40 plus convictions by now.
I still have 0 which proves beyond any doubt that my arrests have nothing to do with law and order and everything to do with an illegal campaign against me.
When asked directly if he is guilty, Sky responded, “of course not.” To date, Sky is the only notable mayoral candidate to condemn Olivia Chow for her connections to the Chinese Communist Party.
