Far-left media organization gets hit with lawsuit for using footage without consent

Press Progress, known for smearing conservatives, is being hit with a lawsuit in federal court.

A far-left media organization known as Press Progress is being hit with a lawsuit for copyright infringement by a Toronto-based lawyer.

Caryma Sa’d, lawyer and amateur journalist, announced on Friday evening she would be suing the media organization, along with one of its journalists.

Press Progress and Luke LeBrun are accused of using Sa’d’s footage “without consent” and making “misleading aspersions.”

Sa’d is a lawyer that rose to fame after representing a client in a landlord-tenant dispute. While she continues to practice law, she moonlights as an amateur journalist.

Press Progress has drawn the ire of conservatives for its biased reporting. The “media” organization is currently under fire for a recent article targeting rival media organization True North.

Canadian Proud is facing a similar lawsuit from Sa’d for allegedly using copyrighted work without permission and without proper attribution.

According to the Toronto-based content creator, her lawyer takes “moral rights very, very seriously.”
