Alberta’s communities are becoming safer as crack houses get shut down one by one.
Alberta premier Danielle Smith is taking a zero tolerance approach to drug dens in her province, as sheriffs continue to shut down properties known to host drug addicts.
The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit recently shut down a property in north end of Jyoti Gondek‘s Calgary due to suspected drug dealing and drug usage, according to a press release.
Some premiers, such as David Eby of British Columbia, have taken a soft-on-crime approach, allowing drug users to get stoned in public places.
Smith has taken the opposite approach, forbidding people from consuming illegal substances, even behind closed doors.
“The safety of Albertans matters to our government,” said the premier on X (Twitter) Saturday afternoon.
