The mainstream media has been caught red-handed spreading falsehoods about the leader of the Conservative Party.
Pierre Poilievre took the Winnipeg Free Press to task for lying to their readers on Saturday. Earlier in the week the publication published an article claiming Poilievre would travel to Winnipeg, but no questions would be allowed.
Sebastian Skamski, Poilievre’s media relations director, slammed the Winnipeg Free Press and reminded people that Poilievre answered questions from several mainstream news outlets during his recent visit.
Poilievre quote-tweeted Skamski and pointed out how Winnipeg Free Press was caught “lying to its readers.”
The Winnipeg Free Press was established in 1872, making it a text-book example of legacy media.
This is not the first time Poilievre has called out bias and inaccurate information from the mainstream media. In 2022, Poilievre took Rachel Gilmore to task for her line of questioning.
Many Conservatives believe the mainstream media is unfairly biased towards Conservatives in part due to generous bail-outs from the Liberal Government. Justin Trudeau has even made jokes about “bribing” the media.
